Meeting Joey and Slipknot's concert in Austria

June 20, 2009

That was last year on 28th November but I still wanted to share how everything happened with you guys...

It all started when Slipknot's site announced that Joey's gonna have signings while touring the Europe. That was lets say a week before their concert in Vienna. I was so excited and let all my friends know about it. We had organised ride to Vienna and everything went well. We arrived there at around 3.30 pm. And while we were searching for that drumstore Joey was signing at we got lost. Me and my friends didn't know where we are. My brother said that it would be the best thing just to return to the concert hall and wait there till the begining of the show. But then one guy got us taxi and it took us to that store. Infront there was around 100 people and we got really close to the entrance of the store. They were letting 10 people in at a time. I noticed Joey was without mask and that made me even more nervous (he looks totally different live then on the photos). When it was my turn my english ofcourse totally blocked and I just asked him how is he and he said he's good and he said he likes my shirt (I was wearing a MIsfits t-shirt). I then asked him if I can take a photo with him and he said yes. When I took a photo of my brother I was still in shock but you should see my hands when I took a photo of Joey and my friend. My hands were shaking so badly...and then Joey said out loud how hard my hands were shaking...That was crazy!!!! =D And on the concert we came to the first row...The concert was absolutely mindblowing...Not just Slipknot but Machine Head and Children of Bodom too!!! My brother and friend cought MH guitar picks and my friend cought Joey's drumstick!!!!! It was the best concert I've ever went to and I'll remeber it till the rest of my life.

    hmmm I thought I posted a comment on this one, but here it comes again, probably didnt press the post comment button 8)) >>>> well organized trip, great pictures you posted with Joey-I think they are really cool, would probably shaking too, support bands are really good, and the best you had two concerts -respect. sooo 1 word-GREAT

    Dude that's so SIC!!!!!!! You're so lucky!! one of my friends got to meet Slipknot... IM SO JEALOUS!!! hahaha

    Joey was the first member of the band I met back in 1999 before hooking up with the band. Joey was very laid back and cool. I remember that day i met him at Ozzfest we talked for a bit and then he had to go. He asked my name and we hugged and he took off. Months later when I finally got the hookup with the Knot on their tour with Coal Chamber Joey recognized me backstage first and called me by my first name...He said, "hey gill whats up brother"...i was shocked that a rockstar that has met so many people would remember my name but he did. that began the friendship with me and the guys.

    im so happy you got to meet him.
