Award winning poem apparently
The sky was dark like her
Grey slush rained like the tears she cried
Cold, lonely and loveless was the day
More dead then alive
Blinking past the tears the goddess cried
She asks why
Confined to the metal container smelling of waste
He thought she was dead enough to put her in
That which was a living hell
To scared to move and hurting everywhere
Her spirit snaps and looses all faith
Nobody knows, but she has a secret to hide
She crawls back to life, but nothing is the same
Killing herself in small doses
It's the hardest to tell
The hardest to coax into the light
Like a vampyre she knows it'll turn into a pile of dust
Dust like what people step on
Unnoticed; her secret
She's fading, doesn't anyone know??
She's disappearing from the world she doesn't trust
It's been years now
She hides it in every chance
Pushing it down so no one knows
And no one does
Never do they see the flinch of her uncomfortable edge
Panicked, broken and betrayed
It rains everyday and rusts her broken heart shut
Thunderstorms rage in her head
She sees the predator in all of them
Nightmares paralyze her awake
She wonders if he knows what he's done
Thinking back in flashes
And cold, lonely and loveless was the day
