Slipknot

Well for a while now, I've been doubting whether nor not I'm losing interest in the Knot and.... I think I am......

Slipknot has been there for me for when I've been at my lowest points and helped me bring myself up, their music changed and helped me, they made me strive to even become a musician. Slipknot deserves th credit they've been given throughout the years. But..........

Although the band musically is out of this world, the band personally has been leaning towards the publicity/celebrity side. This has been noticed for years now after Iowa, and yet Slipknot's Vol.3 and AHIG albums are great, they have softened up. Some use the excuse " it's because of Corey's voice getting damaged", some use the excuse "Slipknot is selling out". I have been starting to realize that yes, Slipknot has sold out. I mean, they wait so many years to make some new music because they're too interested in their side projects. But it's like "what about us Maggots?" It reminds me of Jason Newsted's departure from Metallica. He got so caught up in his side bands, he left Metallica completely so he can be full time with the other bands he enjoyed more. And I'm starting to see Slipknot pulling off a "Newsted". I see them slowly pulling away from being Slipknot. Remember those little rumors going on around this site, saying that Corey Taylor wants to leave Slipknot completely for Stone Sour? Although they say that the interview the rumors started from is back in 2001, Corey Taylor still doubted Slipknot. He truly is way more attached to Stone Sour than to the Knot. I can easily see Corey breaking up with Slipknot after they release this album they're "planing to release". They don't seem to care at all. All they're seeming to care about now is gaining publicity and money. Corey Talor is just a fame whore it seems now. He's completely beginning to sound moe of a country soft country singer than his old growley ways lol. Whatever happened to songs like Spit It Out and The Heretic Anthem and People = Shit? Those songs showed a side of Slipknot we all came to know and love and their statement was to be the best band they can be without being sellouts and will always stick together. What happened to that? Slipknot totally forgot about that and are now not even Slipknot anymore. I even read in interviews in the past that the members of Slipknot enjoy more time being in their side bands than being together as The Knot. They don't care about us Maggots or the music. I mean, Mick Thomson making his own signature pickups, Slipknot needs help making a new iPhone APP? Are you kidding me? Where's Mick Thomson releasing a solo guitar album or Slipknot as a band releasing a new EP or single dedicated to Paul Gray? When I think of Slipknot, I dont even think of their music anymore because they're not even thinking of the music. There are more in depth reasons as to why I'm resiging as a maggot, but these reasons are the heart of the reason. I can keep going on and on, but I believe I made a pretty good statement, and I think Slipknot needs a wake-up call and realize that some Maggots like me are getting sick of them laying on their lazy asses ignoring their true fans and not giving us Maggots what we want: the music they once gave us that morphed us into the Maggots we are. And to all Maggots who disagree with me, I'm not telling you to agree with me or anything. I'm just saying to stop pretending as though Slipknot still cares, because guess what? They obviously don't. Why do you NEED to pay to be an "official" Maggot on this site? I'm pretty sure there are Maggots who are free users who are bigger Maggots than the members who pay money to be an "official Maggot". Slipknot should'nt have fans PAY to be a part of their official fanclub. They should be happy they have fans at all. But apparently, when Slipknot started realizing this world really like them, their egos became too big and started thinking fans have to kiss their asses in order to all themselves real fans. I'm sorry but Slipknot are'nt who they used to be and Maggots need to stop denying that fact. I constantly see Maggots saying " Slipknot never sold out, they're just popular" and other sayings like " Slipknot has'nt gone soft, they're just being different.". I mean, the self-titles album Slipknot and Iowa sound different, but they're still heavy and what they should be. Vol.3 and AHIG are good albums, but that was the beginning of Slipknot becoming sellout assholes like they are today. You don't need to be softer and sellout in order to be a good band. If Slipknot never went against their original statement they stuck with years ago, they'd have more fans and a lot more credit then they're given.

I'm sorry for this very long Blog post. I just wanted to give Slipknot and other Maggots what's been on my mind. If I do stay on slipknot1, it's to talk to the good friends I've met here, not to still be considered the Maggot I once was. If you hate me forgiving up on a band who's given up on themselves and us, then feel free to. You're only beng what Sliknot wants you to be: just another fan.....
