initial idea: start a venue people can enjoy

so i've been to a lot of shows ranging from pensacola, tampa, orlando, atlanta, ft. walton, etc. i have this passion for music that i will never get over and my love for it continues to grow. i want to be able to bring great music to people in an area of florida where there are not a lot of good venues. there are some that are ok but i want to be better than ok. i am a very determined person and when my mind is set on something then i fuckin do it. i've been wanting to do this for a while now and i already have friends who are willing to volunteer as a staff to sell tickets and drinks and what not and i also have a friend which is in a band (adamantverse) who is willing to help me with all the sound and visual equipment i will need. all i need now is the location and the money. i plan on opening this in tallahassee rather than niceville because niceville is really small, noise ordinance is really strict around here and so are the loitering laws, and there's just not a big enough population of people who enjoy metal around here. so tally would be a better place being a college city and a tourist spot and also the state capital so everyone knows where tally is. i have a name of the venue ready and im going to start drawing up the plans for it. my dad and i have done plenty of concrete work before and if we have to we will build the base of it and all i'll need is someone to actually erect the building. but everything else we'll need ranging from furniture, stage, etc my dad and i can build so im pretty set on that. this is something i really want to do and hope i get a chance to do and succeed. i want to run a venue that people will love to come to rather than saying "man i want to see that band but i hate that venue"

there will be no censorship like there is at "the red door" in pensacola because its a "christian venue" and im not going to charge people extra to go out every so often for a smoke break. i do want it to be an all ages venue and i want it to be a non smoking venue. there is nothing worse for a non smoker than goin to a show and having people blow smoke in ur face the whole time. i also want to buy cds directly from the artist and sell them while they are away this way it helps the bands out and it'll give me more business and im able to give people the chance to buy cds that you cant find at best buy or FYE...

tell me any thoughts you may have on what would make a great venue because anything is greatly appreciated.
