The other night Corey Taylor had an acoustic show at the Hard rock hotel in LV. i bought my tickets about a month before and planned on showing up extremely early to get a good place for the show. i found out a little later he also was having a book signing for his new book "Seven Deadly Sins". So FUCK YES I WAS SHOWING UP TO THAT! i got there before there was really a line.. i was like 5th in line. but i waited there for over 4 hours. the line got so fucking intense. im standing there and this group of people walks by...i noticed everyone got really silent.. all i heard was "WHATS UP GUYS" .. "i know that voice".. my head snapped up and it was him.. walking right passed me! dude i was frozen!.. several hours later the book signing started but first he actually did a reading from it.. because i was so close to the front.. i ended up standing RIGHT NEXT TO HIM.. for the whole reading.. seriously like a foot and a half away. then during the Q and A part of it.. i asked him a question.. and for ten minutes he talked to me.. never breaking eye contact with me. i was speechless. all i could do was squeeze the fuck out of my boyfriends fingers. i couldnt believe that this man i have looked up to since i was 9 was standing a foot away from me talking to me. i was absolutely in shock by his eyes.. which are just as beautiful as they were in the videos i have watched a million times. after the reading we had to line back up for the actually book signing. when it was my turn i was so nervous. i think he could tell so he started talking to me again.. and kind of making fun of my name.. haha
Corey - so whats your name?
me - Patricia
Corey - Is that spelled patricia?
Me - yea
Corey - Well you never know anymore.. with all these hippie ass parents.. you could have like.. 3 Y's in your name.. and they could all be silent!
Me - haha yea.. with all those squiggles over top the letters
Corey - haha yea exactly!
he then shook my hand and saw my tattoo of paul and smiled we took our picture together and i purposely stuck my face to his... haha like a total kreep! then when my boyfriend was going to take his picture i accidentally took off with the camera.. when i brought it back corey yelled at me "WHAT THE HELLS WRONG WITH YOU?!" then smiled at me to let me know he was joking
then a few hours wait.. the concert started... and because i was one of the first ones to get my booked signed.. i was first one there as well... so i was right on the stage. during the show corey cut his finger open on his guitar and got a band aid.
he then asked the crowd "DOES ANYBODY WANT MY BLOODY BANDAID IF I SIGN IT? HAHA NOOOO THATS A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN.. OR ONE OF YOU LITTLE FREAKS WOULD TRY AND CLONE ME!"
so i yelled "OHH I WANT ONE OF THOSE"
and he looked at me and smiled and said "ILL GETCHA ONE.. HALF PRICE!"
he mostly did covers of other peoples stuff.. and alot of stone sour.
during the book signing someone said "WILL YOU SCREAM FOR US?!"
and hes all "RIGHT HERE IN THE FUCKING BOOKSTORE?"
and i said "NOOO.. LATER DURING THE SHOW... COME ON... DOOOO IT"
so the only Slipknot song he did was spit it out. he was playing the acoustic.. so he sang the entire song like an old folk song... it was pretty killer.. but right at the end he screamed "ALL YOU WANNA DO IT DRAG ME DOWN.. ALL I WANNA DO IS STAMP YOU OUT!" having corey talor scream like that.. less than a few feet away from you is fucking AMAZING. i fucking lost it dude.. i have an actually video of this on my youtube and my facebook. along with a video of him doing a version of the SCOOBY DOO THEME SONG.
this was most certainly the happiest day of my life so far. it was so killer finding out one of my fucking heros is so nice.. so fucking down to earth. he absolutely cares about his fans and that is so cool to know. he signed my copy of SDS "TO PATRICIA- COREY TAYLOR"
